RESOLUTION

New security software coming

In order to promote Information Security and to prevent the unintentional installation of viruses and malware, an additional piece of security software is being applied to college office computers.

How does this affect me?

When an application or plugin is being installed that requires administrative rights to run, a message similar to the following example will appear.

Example application request dialog box

Example application request dialog

When prompted, if you are sure that you want to run and/or install the requested application, click 'OK' and the installation will proceed as usual. This prompt will also appear when attempting to change certain operating system settings.

If you are actively installing an application or making a change to your settings, you can safely click 'OK'. If this prompt is appearing without performing these actions, please contact the IT Support Center at 614-287-5050.
